Masia Oliveda Orígens

The essence of a wine.

"Intense, harmonious, expressive"

ORIGIN • DO EMPORDÀ •

Made with grapes from 15 to 20-year-old vines, located in the northern area of Alt Empordà and planted in mineral soils with a predominance of silt.
Thanks to the typical climate in Alt Empordà, the Tramontane wind blows away most of the rain, leading to low production, which results in very expressive wines.

VARIETIES

Grenache and Carignan.

WINE-MAKING

Modern wine made with the aim of extracting the maximum taste and aromatic qualities from this exclusive land. Macerated in stainless steel vats for 25 days and fermented at a controlled temperature of 25°C. Aged in American and French oak barrels for 3 months.

TASTING NOTES

Red-cherry colour with a ruby tone.
On the nose, its fresh aroma of fruits of the forest (blackcurrant and blackberry) and spices stands out over a vanilla background gained from ageing.
With a balanced, tannic structure, it is full and elegant in the mouth with a long aftertaste where the toasted notes of ageing reappear.

ACCOMPANYING AND SERVING

Ideal for accompanying meats, casseroles, stews, mushrooms and high-fat cheeses. Optimum serving temperature: 15°C-17°C.
