Estates located on the southern slopes of the Sierra de la Albera mountain range, bordering the little town of Vilamansicle in a Nature Area of National Interest. The shale and environmental conditions, mountainous terrain and altitude give this wine a powerful and exclusive nature.
Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
WINE-MAKING AND AGEING
Grape-picking begins at the end of September or start of October and is done manually. At the winery, there is a second selection of the grape on the sorting table.
The wine is made traditionally with long macerations at a controlled temperature.
The ageing process lasts 24 months in American-oak barrels and the remaining time in the bottle.
The stony land lacking in organic matter and the mountain micro-climate characterised by the strong Tramontane wind means the plant has to protect itself by growing deep roots and producing little: so so we get a small and highly concentrated grape able to transmit all the complexity of the “terroir”.
Cherry colour with hints of brick red.
Balsamic and toasted caramel aromas perfectly integrated with the perfumes of French oak.
in the mouth, it is elegant, powerful and expressive with a long, balanced aftertaste, where we enjoy the complexity provided by these lands with their high mineral content.
PAIRING AND SERVING
Ideal for accompanying casseroles, game dishes, ox, meats with texture, mature cheeses and Iberian sausages. Serve between 16°C and 18°C. It should be decanted to extract all the potential of this magnificent wine.
